This is entirely based on the premise that scaling will yield exponential improvements and lead to emergent intelligence as a byproduct of more scaling iterations... however scaling has already largely plateaued --- and LLMS are now understood by experts to be really amazing probabilistic models but fundementally will not lead to emergent intelligence. Everything else in this discussion is a moot point. There needs to be a paradigm shift away from LLMS to produce anything super intelligent or self aware. I'm amazed that these convos fail to mention this, they feel more like scifi fanfiction than any description of real world events.
