Societal disruption of AI moving all of the benefits of the majority of work to a few people who own the software and causing a massive exacerbation of the inequality we already see in the tech bro era where individuals become more powerful than most, if not all, governments and we go back to them owning towns, printing their own currencies, and designing miniature societies to benefit themselves at the cost of the human rights of everyone stuck there with increasingly sophisticated and subtle means of preventing them from leaving - welcome to tech bro fiefdoms. That and the possibility of AI developing a sophisticated enough algorithm to reduce nature and nurture to a formula and potentially disprove free will - I legit don't think people would handle the implications on religion, human nature, and society particularly well if we're shown that free will either exists in small margins or not at all, and lets be honest, if we were all snowflakes deciding our own fates, Amazon wouldn't always know what we want to buy.
