before me and my team got fired due to a new austerity law i was working in a study about what appears to be a new algorithm used by meta that is purposely giving more visibility not to posts but comments that have very hateful opinions about the post, usually all with conservative views, specially on instagram, the screen time of the user that scrolls down increases a lot as the app use afterwards, since every time a comment receives a reply the app activates it also increases access time to the granted permissions, we were on the way to see if the new algorithm was just trying to increase use by generation of discord like the one that facebook used before it was banned after the trial or if it was pueposedly targeting creators with certain characteristics in order to decrease their posts and manipulate this way the trends to the most ad friendly ones, or if in the worse scenario it worked like the one that is used on twitter now and was trying to push a very specific political bed in accordance to his owner, we couldn't finish but i always wanted to publish what we had since it was extremely concerning that with the creators helping us their analytics showed the possibility of artificial injection of content favouring the last 2 hypothesis as the most plausible, the fact that we can't publish anything now and the constant increase of reactionary politics made me have horrible dreams of futurism and nrx with the path capitalism ia going towards a Cyberocracy.
