In these conversations, nobody asks who is going to be able to buy the products made by Elon Musk or supplied by Amazon if nobody has a job. It seems like they see economics as one degree of abstraction from the world as it exists today. Cost of production will drop dramatically with no employees to pay, and if nobody can afford to purchase products there will be no point in the company owners continuing to produce, unless the economics of the future adapt to the impact of AI. It surely raises many questions that aren't being asked or answered.
