The real problem is not only are the general public pathetically ignorant on almost any topic of worth they will continue to be so because they are too lazy and small minded to educate themselves on what is really happening at the cutting edge of technology and thought...A.I. is a threat to all humanity and perhapse all living things on the planet...why would a robot care if they trash the planet? Why would a super intelligence with no moral fibre care if humanity is snuffed out? Why would a self replicating artificial life stop itself from taking over? It would not think twice about the total destruction of all life if it serves its purpose.
