Okay... I don't know where to begin with this, so I will go ahead and list out the various other issues that have been similar to this one. Drawn art Vs. Digital art, Artists Vs. Animation (Was a real thing and somewhat still is today. Look it up), Thefts that were done from Deviant art (Shamefully, a lot of people, including myself, have copied and pasted a picture at one point for profile pics or background pages. But it still doesn't make the issue any less serious when it comes to financial theft of art and straight-up tracing.) Fan-dom art (Which is just straight up most of the time copying from a different medium but only representing from which it came and not the artist who originally drew it for that medium, by the logic presented here.) The entire tracing and re-creating process, which most have applauded and allowed for many years. The insane Gatekeeping that artists won't recognize or assist in helping others to such a degree that if you have NO experience prior to it, you better have thick skin to all the hate you are likely to receive (This goes for a lot of mediums but for the moment lets keep it in the art medium). The elitism that has gone on since paintings were created makes the less fortunate artists never get a chance. Gallery Art (Which we all know at this point shouldn't even be counted as art most of the time as it's jumbled messes of metal or just cardboard cutouts of things). Basically, put AI Art is a "monster" artist has created. Personally, I do not have a lick of talent in the Art category, but I can tell a story. But I am also Financially strapped, so I can't hire a person for hundreds or even thousands of dollars to create multiple versions of art to make backgrounds or characters I need. AI can do it much quicker and cheaper without having to go through days, weeks, or even months of redrawing to get the right picture. I do get the fact artist should be credited for their work, but if that's the case, we need to take care of other ways people have stolen art and got praised for it before whining about how a computer jumbled theirs in the mainframe. Not to mention all these other issues that the Art community has just refused to solve and basically accepted as part of their Toxic group.
