The big money is in fear mongering. AI has been here almost 4 years and all it's known for is slop content. Tell me one thing AI is doing amazingly? It's causing loads of fake news articles, cheating amoung students, loads of crap apps and services etc. The only really useful thing I've seen AI doing is helping blind people. It's wrought with issues. Giving robotics AI (as we know it now) is a stupid decision that's gonna create big lawsuits. The next big step with AI is going to be regulation. Companies stealing data and overpromising and under delivering is gonna spawn lawsuits. That's what's coming next. Not general intelligence. LLM's are not capable of reasoning. We're not there yet. We thought we'd have hover boards. We thought flying cars. Shits not happening. General AI may not even be possible with computers. It may only be a biological phenomenon.
