That said, they should be able to copyright it.
Corporations do this every day. They have a team of engineers (the AI) design a product (the art) largely based on pre-existing knowledge or concepts (AI training) and then copyright it.
When a corporation with enough money to lobby (bribe) the government gets into AI art they'll decide it can be copyrighted.
