I think they love slugs because it is one of the easiest things to animate since they have no appendages. Even the eye-stalks (yes that is what they are called) are a defining section of the overall body but still part of the singular piece. In short - it is the pinnacle of Ai slop capabilities WITHOUT messing something up... prove me wrong.
I really like the 2nd line of the David Holz quote. Which suggests that they understand the importance of embedding meta data into images but refuse to do it to the slop their software generates. They have even lobbied congress to regulate against the idea.
OMG .... one of the commenters in your video who is pro-ai, I recognized their profile pic as someone who I just got in a three-day argument with over "what a reasonable amount of US citizens who lose their constitutional rights during the sweeping deportation process of the Trump admin should look like"... his answer was WAAAY more than zero. 🤦♂
