First, the Oxford definition of Art: "the expression or application of *human* creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or *emotional* power." A number of points in that definition eliminate generative AI from ever qualifying as art Second, I hate how radical the fight between AI and artists is. I’m a 2D and 3D artist, and I absolutely love art of all forms. But I’m also an AI enthusiast. I think AI is extremely cool and exciting. But I don’t think it has any place in creativity. AI is a great tool for logical reasoning, but creativity should be left to humans. Being an artist doesn’t mean you have to be anti-AI and liking AI doesn’t mean you have to be anti-artist. People are far too extreme far too often.
