i think you are making a wrong assumption here, this person most likely reached the conclusion that art is a skill you are born with on their own. I had the exact same thought process before, that I am just not cut out for this, and the fact other people my age did better was the proof. After trying by yourself for a long time and still not even reaching a fraction of the skill of someone else makes you lose all hope. I remember not even being able to look at a drawing for more than 5 seconds without starting to remember how much i hate myself. What you are saying here is most likely making the situation worse and your art that you showed is still really good and nice, if i was the one seeing those drawings this would prove my point that you were born with the skill to draw. Obviously this does not justify them using ai art to cope but i think its important to see the real intentions behind someones faults.
