In general, as an AI engineer, I don’t agree with how AI art is being handled. It’s not right to use someone’s work without their permission. Especially to essentially generate entire works of art. I would understand if someone used it as a tool to help get the creative juices flowing. At the same time, AI image analysis is helping doctors save lives due to critical manpower shortages. It’s really amazing stuff. AI is a powerful tool, but with great power comes great responsibility. In my genuine opinion, these AI models should only be in the hands of responsible individuals who know how to respect IP. It wasn’t a good idea to let every Tom, dick, and Jane get their hands on such powerful tools.
