Krystal's heart is in the right place in her support for American workers in general but I find bandwagon-ing on AI hysteria misinformed. Companies are attributing layoffs to AI as part of a strategy to seem relevant and "innovative" to investors, and also just as part of usual obfuscation around mismanagement and poor planning. Job cuts after COVID era overhiring were bound to come, and now can be attributed to " AI", which also makes the companies seem lean and savvy, just by throwing the AI word around. Retarded mainstream "news" segments about AI Armageddon fuel this, while also helping Altman et tal pump their companies (and valuation) as transformative. This video does a much better job of saying what I am trying to say, I am just so sick and impatient of people missing the mark on what is really going on here, as workers and young people suffer, not because of "AI takeover" but because of the same old corporate mismanagement and government impotence.
