I've seen a lot of people not see/ignore the issue of AI not out of laziness of convenience, but out of sheer spite for the art community. They see internet artists stealing art, copying art, reusing the same tired pseudo anime style, and all the while throwing hate and vitriol, at each other and at others outside of their sphere, and I guess the AI sympathizers see the AI takeover as being like some sort of divine punishment. I wish I could show these people your argument, but they would point and laugh and say "look, the artist is fearing for their job". But the fact is that they don't see the bigger picture. Not only has AI image generation dominated basic google image search, but we're also letting it take away a key aspect of human culture if we simply ignore/embrace it. Unfortunately, the cats out of the bag now. I've got no idea how we move forward from here. It's only going to get worse...
