They discussed the economic worries like unemployment, but completely ignored the misalignment problem.
"I don't think AGI is what we're going to go for." It's clear that's where all current efforts are aimed at, so how can he possibly say that? Plus there is more and more evidence that advancing artificial intelligence for specific tasks also requires general intelligence. It is so disappointing to see such a respected person say something so irresponsible.
