Idk how many of you have done deep dives with the OpenAI GPT releases, or what specific build and what 'safety' protocols were in place on the build you were able to use. There are some MASSIVE differences just between a public build and release and a private release. All the little knock off builds ppl have for download on the various app stores, which from what I've been told are just glorified chatbots. Lolol I knew when I saw an ad aimed at 'neckbeards' and basement dwellers, for quazi-romantic companionship literally a week or so after GPT3.5(commonly referred to as chatGPT) was released, that ohhhh boy. Here comes the shitshow. These are extremely rough and deep uncharted waters we're wading into here, and truly we must tread cautiously, carefully and remember that what we're aware of and the pieces of the puzzle we do have in what's considered the history of humanity; this technology or anything resembling it has never been seen. So we have no real idea of what is truly possible or what capabilities it will poses, which leaves humanity in a position in the dark, not understanding or even being able to fathom or imagine the capabilities of ai, because it's something humanity has never seen. Idk if OpenAI has changed its policy/standard of moving forward EXTREMELY carefully and cautiously. I haven't read any published papers or heard of any changes to their protocols, so hopefully that's still the status quo. Apologies for wall of text; it's just such an interesting topic, but lol at the same time if you asked 100 random citizens to tell you what they think AI is, maybe 1 person would answer in a legitimate way. ✌ 🤪
