I think of AI as kind of like a ghostwriter or ghost artist—you feed it your ideas, and it uses styles and references to help bring them to life, depending on how descriptive you are. Honestly, I think AI art can be extremely useful for creative people who have disabilities or injuries that stop them from fully expressing what’s in their head—or for those who just can’t draw but have amazing ideas they want to share. So calling someone who uses AI art 'lazy' is kinda like saying a person in a wheelchair is lazy for not running up the stairs. It just doesn’t make sense. And the whole 'AI steals art' thing? That’s like saying anyone who draws in the CalArts style is stealing. Or if someone designs a character with orange curly hair, a plaid skirt, thigh-high socks, a black long-sleeve with that cleavage heart cutout thing, and little horns—that’s stealing too? And don’t even get me started on the 'thieves' who dare to call their work fan art! You see how ridiculous that sounds? I personally think people who use AI as a creative tool shouldn’t be insulted—especially if they’re honest about using it, and clear about what they contributed: the idea, the prompt, the tweaking, the direction. And for those shouting 'commission real artists'—just remember, some people used to hate on digital art the same way. Or 3D rendering. Or 3D printing. Heck, if we follow that logic, we should all go back to carving stuff out of wood and stone like cavemen, right? Bottom line: AI is like this super smart, fast-learning, omnipresent helper—like a digital Mr. Meeseeks from Rick and Morty. Some versions work for free, some take commissions, and some give you free samples. So stop acting like that South Park 'they took our jobs!' meme. There are still people who appreciate the human touch, whether it’s digital or traditional. The real issue isn’t people using AI—it’s people lying about it. Let’s put the blame where it actually belongs. -Hey, actually Tovar here, writing myself, because funny thing is that I had a WAY longer and horribly written rant that I asked Chat GPT to help make it shorter and still get my point across, as I have autism and I struggle to express myself coherently and straight to the point, I actually write how I speak in fact. It's extremely long winded as you can see. I am not ashamed that while I am a very creative person with a lot of ideas in almost every form of art, I have my own personal limitations to express those visions JUST right, and I'm sure traditional and digital artists artists can understand that feeling very well. Sometimes I use AI a lot, sometimes I use it a little. For example, I will sketch something out as BEST as I can articulate my vision into sending the right signals in the right order to the different parts of my body to create it and run it through AI to enhance it. But as you can see, I am doing the best I can to genuinely write to you to personally address you and show you a great example of why I am NOT ashamed to use AI as a tool to express my creative mind and why I believe that I, and anybody else like me, shouldn't have to be bullied and made to feel ashamed for us using tools that assist us to be just as able as anybody else. Instead of judging people by their skills, maybe start appreciating and acknowledging their minds. I hope that I possibly changed at least one person's perspective in this rant.
