Hey! Disabled person and disability activist here who is also an artist. Thank you for actually requesting our inclusion. I've used some AI before but mostly actually for text-based things and never without a lot of post-generation editing. Personally I don't have any impairments that would prevent me from making art, but thinking on my community, it is by far and away one of the most creative communities I am a part of. The MAIN line of work disabled people seem to end up getting into when they're unable to work full time is 9 times out of 10 art or crafts. We're a SUPER creative and crafty bunch! And as you well know, artists mostly don't love using AI or its existence generally. So yeah, I'm inclined to agree that this as an argument doesn't seem to really line up with my experience as a disabled person or of other disabled people. I've seen other disabled people getting a lot from more text-based AI that can do things like help you plan and structure things or alter the tone of things, but I've see literally zero interest in AI use for art. As you'll well know a lot of the most accomplished artists in art history have been disabled people, even artists who really do have the kind of impairments that might make traditional art production difficult often find pretty ingenius ways to make art anyway and are thought of more highly for it.
