Everybody keeps treating AI as if the primary problem is downstream in the machine.
It isn’t.
The deeper problem is upstream in the human beings designing, deploying, regulating, and reacting to it.
AI alignment is downstream of human alignment.
That is the missing conversation.
If we do not know how to govern power, agency, truth, correction, belonging, and intent in ourselves, we will not govern it in AI. We will only scale our own immaturity.
This is exactly where the 7 Governing Dynamics become relevant. The 7GD system was intentionally designed to regulate the human limbic emotional-dynamic system, and those same governing principles apply directly to AI.
Respondability: Do we actually have the capacity to govern what we are building?
Sociability: Are we designing for human flourishing, or for extraction, dependency, and behavioral capture?
Engageability: Are leaders willing to face reality and do the hard work, or are they collapsing into delay, denial, and fatalism?
Charitability: If the governing intent is not love of persons, regulation becomes politics, fear, and control instead of protection.
Sovereignability: AI must remain servant, never sovereign. Human agency must not be surrendered.
Discernibility: We need signal over hype, incentives, panic, and techno-messianic fantasy.
Teachability: If institutions cannot repent, learn, and update faster than they scale, they will be ruled by the consequences of their own blindness.
So the real issue is not merely how to regulate AI.
The real issue is whether humanity can mature fast enough to govern what it is creating.
That is the upstream problem.
Until we solve that, every downstream law will lag.
Elon, I dare you to have this conversation with me personally, one self-taught anthropological architectural systems-engineering problem solver to another.
I have spent more than 26 years studying and engineering emotional intelligence architecture. I am telling you there is a governing architecture for this problem, and it belongs upstream of AI policy, model alignment, and regulation.
The missing layer in this entire debate is upstream human limbic governance. The 7GD model is built for that exact problem.
The clock is ticking. I am not fatalistic, and for good reason. I know the missing architecture. I want you to know it. Please have this conversation with me.
My one real obstacle is getting past the filters and noise and into a direct human conversation with you, person to person. Once that happens, I think you’ll find I am fluent in the systems-engineering logic underlying your concerns. I speak your language, and the architecture I’m pointing to will become far more clear, practical, and relevant than it may seem from a distance. You have nothing to lose by testing it. The difficulty is not the substance of the conversation. The difficulty is connecting so we can have the conversation.
