Bravo. I agree with almost everything you said. My main issue with AI and UBI is exactly that it sort of eliminates the reason to exist in the first place by removing incentives and making everything optional and dopamine- driven. I think human existence is about *doing* things and people rejoicing that AI removes the need to *do* things is blowing my mind. My only explanation for AI enjoyers' arguments is that they just personally benefit from AI at the expense of others and they try to spin that into some kind of virtue in order to get the benefits *and* to hold an unearned "good person"- position while doing so. As a craftsman it's annoying to me how the AI people at my company are telling us that we need not worry, the AI "only automates the parts of an artist's job that nobody likes". Bitch, I enjoy drawing lines, picking the shadow colors, redrawing a hand few times to get it right, playing tetris with UV islands (I know that has been automated already :D) and bashing my head against the wall for 2 days to figure out a good, unique building shape that fits the style. I couldn't care less about being some impotent idea guy so get bent and take my 10 000 hours into your rectum.
