The same discussion as with photography 150 years ago. And his image won the competition. My understanding is, that it was known that it was ai generated, so where is the problem. By the way: every artist has looked at the work of other artists and learned from it - so why are you whining? And since when was it ever relevant for a piece to be called art, whether the artist had an income?
