I remember seeing an exhibit of the Chinese Terra Cotta warriors, looking at the faces of these sculptures and thinking about the artists who made them, how I know nothing about the artists and can't imaine what their lives were like thousands of years ago, but I could see the choices they made in their work and imagine how they felt while sculpting... It felt like this small faint conversation with someone from the distant past, it was genuinely moving. I look at AI "art" and know there was never a mind behind it, it feels like talking to a corpse.
