Science has absolutely NO clue what the observer is. I could do everything I do and am everything I am without the observer being there, it are just chemical reactions dictated by natural laws... In that case it would be fine to torture or murder me... or is it?
I think we are lightyears away from being able to tell if AI has an observer, an "experiencer". That indeed is a spiritual question not a scientific question...
