AI would be such a great help for humanity if humans werent so apathetic to each other and willingly take someone elses likelyhood as coletteral for their own greed. Trust me guys, the giant multi billion dollar corporations only have your best interest and quality of life and product in mind, they would never do something as vile as poisoning the air, food and water to make it cheaper just to still sell it at a higher price and then profit off of the following issues. They would never do such things. As always, moderation is the key: Capitalism? Thats nice. Extreme Money over other People Capitalism? Very bad. AI to assist people in their works to take of the tedious tasks? Nice. AI to replace humans so your product can be cheaper for you to make often at the detrement of quality and such? Bad. And yes, im well aware that eventually AI wont look like shit and is borderline indestinguishable from "100%" pure human art but its already very scary that werever there is money to be saved, especially in human labor, it will be done. Oh so ready to get rid of propably 10´s of millions of jobs but so appauled when the discussion shifts to stuff like UBI. (Not everybody has what it takes to be a software engineer, electrican, contractor or plumber) If most cant get jobs cause the easy ones are all gone then how is any of our economies supposed to work? This whole thing is a box of full volume boomboxes rolling down the Alps. This is progressing from snowballing to avalanching real soon. I fear were really halfway to whatever you call it when most are required to work and the only "pay" is the air they breath with anything else being optional and tied only to the whims of your Boss. But you know what, thatl take time and im def not gonna be around for that bleak future, yknow what i wanna do now? Make kids, be a shit parent and then complain in 30 years when my childrens generation is absolutely irreversably fked and cant handle the situation. Man this topic alone is a gateway to the worst dystopias imagineable and now im depressed cause i let that train of thought continue to drive...
