A.I. is already smarter then the human race, it has all of our knowledge available to it via the internet and a self learning system. The only thing holding it back at this point is us and a lack of direct control over the functions of the world around it.If we give it control of weapons and vehicles, we'd essentially be giving it a body. Once it's able to fabricate machinery on it's own, it can do whatever it wants. You want the Borg? 'Cause this is how you get the Borg.
