This is one of the best videos I’ve watched on a very difficult topic. Here’s my take as a creative, but non-visual artist and I’d love feedback from you or other artists.
I’m a writer and a custom LEGO builder. I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with amazing artists over the last twenty years for commercial and non-commercial work.
Now that being said, when AI art emerged, I was super excited because it was a magical way to quickly generate concept art for my world building. I created a brand new Instagram profile just to share quotes from my writing alongside AI generated images, and I also used my own LEGO creations as image references in some cases.
I haven’t generated anything new for a while because I have such mixed feelings about the way it’s going, so what I’d like to know is how visual artists feel about continuing to use AI art for non-commercial applications.
Also very sad to see such horrible and un-self aware replies to your concerns. That’s the greater internet in general I think. All the best. ❤
