AI does not understand - it has no idea of meaning - All meaning in AI is set out by the rules input by the conscious programmers - AI is as clever as the data it has access to and by the rules set down by the conscious programmers it cannot transcend that data and those rules and 'KNOW' what its doing - It would not 'KNOW' if any new data it created had value (meaning) unless the conscious programmers set the rules for it to know. AI is an amazing simulation of human abilities but it does not have the ability of consciousness.
AI will in the future be extremely impressive and know a great deal based on the data it has access to and the rules set down by consciousness programmers but thats all.
