What I respect this video because at the end of the day you're touching on somthing that is very true. The more you rely on something the less you're going to actually use the original thing that you would use for example I'm sitting in a chair right now as I type this I'm OK now I'm not doing exercise, I'm being lazy right now if I keep doing that my body is going to be worse at exercise my health is going to be worse. Well that's very similar to your point if I'm not using my brain and I'm relying on AI or search engines to fill in the blanks for me then the cognitively I am becoming weaker however I am very questionable on this study on the people that were in this study because perhaps myself and others are different to these people and I'll explain why. when I use ChatGPT on a daily basis I am constantly argument against what it says I'm scrutinising everything it says I'm able to have very deep conversations with ChatGPT but at each point I'm not just relying on what it says I'm constantly assessing it and double checking I'm asking themselves to check via Google via Chrome there all the Internet sources they could find to make sure what they're saying is is best to the knowledge that we have today. This use of AI daily is not making me Dumber in fact it's the opposite it's reinforcing critical thought with critical opinions and then fact checking that with reality that's how you're meant to use AI. Similarly someone said in the comments I'm paraphrasing a great philosopher wouldn't teach the students by giving them the answer they would lead them with the questions that make you think well yeah look at that that's pretty logical that's going to help you fill in the hole when you have the questions circling the hole and you finally see there's a holder to be filled with an answer but that that's how we work and we're not just gonna use AI to fill in the hole unless we need to be quickly simply and efficiently for example let's say I'm stuck in their video game and I've tried the last half an hour to get out one getting out and I'm stuck I'll go use chat and I'll ask chat yo check out all the sources for this problem look at Reddit someones figured out if not if you know something can you tell me I just want the answer. This is the only other way you can use chat however if you use chat like this all the time you're going to have the same problem this video is demonstrating because you're not cognitively learning you're just getting the answer you taking a box however we just noted this right this is a very simple request this is a very high level request from my first statement and so that's how you gonna use it yeah I don't know how people don't know how to use it but you can't rely on it for everything 'cause you're not going to learn everything so you know go ahead try ask AI some really intense questions and see if you learn something about yourself or learning about it because that's how you learn through trial error and through finding things that you wouldn't normally have sound right anyway that's my two cents I believe this video is a little click baity OK don't believe everything you read just know that AI can't replace your mind and AI is not right all the time thus it's always gonna be down to you that's the real take from this video and this long ass comment
