The onus of proof is not on the driver but on the manufacturer which is in this case, Tesla. I don’t care how hard you get for Elon and Tesla, we must always take the most prudent assessment when dealing with a potentially harmful technology. To do otherwise, is to do dis-service to the long run acceptability and therefore viability of the system. There is no fake it till you make it in this patch. I’m a great fan and believer of automated transport. Blandishments and straight out denial will not help the rollout of the technology. be a true friend of it, not an apologist.
