Artists take inspiration from the world around them and transform that into a work of art. They see the wondrous and the terrible and, when they cast it into a new form, it is always going to be shaped by the artist's own perspective. Each work of art is a reflection of the artist, as well as the things that they experienced to inspire that piece.
AI does none of this. AI takes information that it is given, then scours the internet for images that exist, then takes bits and pieces from everywhere, warps them, and stitches them together into a hideous amalgamation. There's no understanding or tact or effort. It doesn't reflect the personality or values or perspective of its creator, and it isn't creating something new. It's piecing together the sawn off bits of other works.
It's like the difference between quoting someone for your essay with an elaboration of their meaning and the relevance of the quote and simply copy-pasting quotes from a few different Wikipedia articles. One understands and expands, the other copies to fill space.
