My income from translation has taken a huge dive, yet the fact that people are not using my human services (which took many years of slog to acquire) remains an elephant in the room relating to practice that people do not seem to (want to) admit to. Clients have just kind of slipped away...
And/Yet part of that is - apparently - that they have instantly-acquired absolute faith in the work done by machine learning!!!

Since St. Paul actually viewed translation as a divine gift (of the Holy Spirit), are we to see it as significant that the anyway-noble and helpful and skilled profession of translator is one of the first to be eradicated by AI?
I had fondly imagined I would have some income through to my last days on the basis of skills I had acquired (strived and struggled to acquire).
