Tesla has managed to convince thousands of people to become AI trainers and even pay for the privilege, misleading them into believing they are getting autopilot. In reality, being an AI trainer means you are expected to remain alert at all times to intervene whenever the AI makes a mistake. Yet, this is sold as though the self-driving system is watching out for you—until, of course, the system makes a mistake. Then it’s your fault for not paying attention and correcting the AI.
