The current AI dont reason, based on input they predict the statistically most likely outcome based on your prompt. When it has a result its instruction is to write an explanation to the change it did. That's why it appears to be thinking, but it's actually not, it just computes and the reasoning is just for show.
This is why they reason their way into a slightly different output if faced with an identical problem. It's statistically likely, but varies within a margin.
