This video has some of the best anti-AI arguments I've heard, especially the thing about people robbing themselves from the experience of having to really observe and break down another artist's choices. Sounds counter-intuitive, but AI has absolutely zero intelligence or logic aside putting a piece of data that is likely to go next to another based on a specific dataset that it's trained on. Yes, artists do that to a great degree, but that's like the barebone basics that a human hardly even thinks about when making art. That baseline process is why AI generated images aren't entirely ugly or nonsensical, but an AI has no opinions on what you ask it to make or the art it was trained on, it doesn't even "know" why those pieces of data happen to have the level of correlation they do. For a machine that does "learning" there's hardly any actual learning, not the kind with critical thinking that humans posses. I also think for those who like to use AI to make a quick meme or whatever, that if they tried just drawing it out, even if it comes out looking comically amateurish, I'd appreciate it 10x more than the more clinical image generated by a machine. I mean, look at the "rageface" memes we came up with long before AI even existed, they are unrefined as hell, but have made us laugh for literal generations!
