i can't get over how much worse this is, on every level, than a train or a street car is while serving exactly the same function. it is just a bad, horrible train
it moves fewer people, it is vastly more expensive, it is stupidly harder to maintain, it could be just instantly taken away at a whim since it is a private service. and it doesn't even help relieve traffic congestion because people aren't even using waymo rides at maximum capacity - almost every waymo trip is single occupant because that's what the model encourages. so any proposed waymo future would be converting driver + passenger trips into just passenger trips, literally doubling the number of cars on the already congested roads
