They should allow AI to be used in more consumer-friendly ways. ChatGPT and Images are great fun. They should let people play with it more. Deepfakes are the main danger in that case and that being the case it would only give the major news companies their legitimacy back because you'd have to have the official source or someone you trusts makes sure they do and get it form them.
Figure out what you CAN'T weaponize, and let the public have that. That'll distract enough people. Unity, Unreal, Universal, Paramount, Disney, Meta, all of these have assets that are deployable within an AI - to be used and manipulated with language. Media, art, play is what we're trying to proceed through. We know the obvious dangers, strictly control for them (AI killdrones, thoughtcrime, genocide) and let human consumers play with the ultimate sandbox game
