This whole video is based on the false premise by Charlie that something is either copyrighted or not because the individual who placed the copyright is talented. That has nothing to do with it. You could be the most non-talented individual ever you could for instance be an owner of a company and higher someone who is talented to then create something for you much like how a person would use AI to create something for them and then you would be able to take that other person‘s creation that you, use them to make and then copyright whatever that thing is whether it’s a piece of art or certain concept in certain cases or business model or any number of other things that can be copyrighted. I’m not saying whether or not this guy should be able to copyright AI art or not but what I am saying is that these arguments for why you shouldn’t be able to buy Charlie in this video or just bad arguments that make absolutely no sense how talented someone is or whether or not you used to another piece of technology to create something else has nothing to do with it. Also quick sidenote AI art might be trained off of other peoples art, but other peoples art is no different as it is trained just off of reality no art ever has created something from nothing. It has been derivative of certain things they have observed within reality itself. AI is no different only instead of taking pictures from random hills around the world. They take already made pictures and then make derivative things of that. It is not that different from what normal human artist do. In fact, you could make an argument that even a video camera takes pictures of what an actual talented artist would have to take hours, if not days to actually paint out in a substantive way does this mean that any artist that uses camera photography is their main format, not be able to copyright their work because the image was generated by the machine known as the camera? And the list kinda goes on and on. Again, I’m not saying whether or not AI art should be able to be copyrighted or not. I think this is an incredibly complex subject and I’m not actually sure of the correct answer myself. All I’m pointing out is that the arguments given here in this video are very poor.
