Its so sad seeing the American right fearmonger about things other countries do, but then immediately do the same when given the opportunity. We have AI surveillance cameras everywhere, even after making fun of Britain for CCTV. We have a police state where officers cannot be charged with crimes the vast majority of the time, even after saying “communism” brings such evils. Our media is controlled. For a while, we might not have had the same controls as China, but currently, more and more states are requiring government ID to access websites.
They were just mad they weren’t the ones in control.
