Well it's not that AI is creative, it just probably was trained on text containing wierd ways to use objects (it was trained in a lot of random internet stuff, so ir for shure was trained on these random things). It's like if before the competition the organizers told humans, hey, here is a list of wierd ways to use this object, qnd then asked for wierd ways to use it, we would be able to list most of the ways in the list, but probably a few others. AI would not be able to say a few others, and to begin with, it was trained on things WE imaginated. That's the difference
