While I definitely agree that generative ai users are NOT artists, those programs give results that WERE trained on many artists' work without their consent. Many were trained on a specific style or even a specific artist, and those artist(s) shouldnt have to see heavily referenced work based on their own art. Something to keep in mind is that even though ai has been improving, many still just copy preexisting art and alter them minimally.
Shame generative AI, their creators, and the users, but remember to keep the artists in mind!
(one thing you can do to help is if you ever spot ai works anywhere [i.e. Pinterest, Twitter, TikTok], that you know stole many works from specific artist(s), leave credit in a comment or post!)
