AI is just a tool, like any other tool. It is not "the villain". The villain is the person who uses it to perform evil deeds. For example, a knife can be useful, like cutting bread, but it could be used to hurt other people. At the other extreme nuclear power is useful in many ways too but it has been used to kill hundreds of thousands of people. Similarely, AI is already being used to dish ot false information, military weapons, fake news, videos, etc.. Therefore., in the wrong hands, it can definitely be used as a WMD.
