As an artist myself who’s been trying to explain exactly what you talked about to friends and family that don’t see a problem with ai generated images, what you talked about with the human element and the soul behind it really hit deep. It’s so frustrating and painful watching people turn to ai to make art when we never needed ai to do it. Watching people close to me be proud of their ai generated image is one of the most hurtful things. You’re telling me that the thing I worked on for my entire life is worth the same if not less than what took you 5 seconds to generate? Why do we need ai art? We have real artists. We have real voice actors, real authors. Why do we need ai? I understand that in certain cases ai can be very useful and beneficial, but that’s because it’s needed there. ai was never needed in art because since the beginning of time, art was always there. Being made by humans. Having “better” or more art isn’t going to save lives like maybe ai identifying tumors or building stronger buildings. We don’t NEED ai in art. Have we all grown so lazy and selfish that we need a machine to do one of the most human things? Sure, maybe it’ll make you more money, but at that point are you really a human? Or are you also a robot, or a bank more like. If you don’t even recognize the humanity in one of the most human things, how can you even call yourself a human?
