Hot take: I don't see AI generated art as a problem so long as someone is using it for the base and then further modifies it themselves. I don't view this as any different than the many instances of artists using digital art tools to take their art and remove aspects with Magic Erase, or move/resize elements to line up better than when they, themselves drew it. Prompting also requires a lot more creativity than the many people using 'digital tools' to manage creating art. If we want to say a person isn't an artist just because they use AI, then we need to stop calling everyone who uses Magic Erase or other digital tools like move/resize to correct their 'artistic mistakes'.
