Optical illusions do not prove consciousness. First, we experience specific optical illusions due to the biology of our visual system. There is no reason an AI would necessarily have the same illusions as us because it is built very differently. Second, even if we did construct an AI to make the same errors as us (which I think has been done to some extent), that still would not prove that the AI has consciousness. It might just mechanically or robotically produce similar errors as us.
