I will say that I like the idea of the white rabbit from Alice & Wonderland having a vest with nonsensical buttons dotted about his vest and jacket as though he knew that a vest must have buttons, but he had no idea what for, and assumed that the buttons were simply meant to be there because a vest has buttons. For an AI? Absolutely garbage. However, the poor quality of the tech is not the issue, nor is it worth condemning (not for an actual philosophical rebuke of the tech, keep mocking them) because, to put simply, yes, they make mistakes, but so does a human. The quality is not our problem, it is the ethics of the matter, that their theft is ontologically wrong regardless of the result, that the infusion of generated material necessarily detracts from the concept. The problem with AI isn't how many buttons are on a vest. The problem is that beauty exists *solely* to facilitate connection with community, tribe, kin, coven, and society. That the creation of artistry is a form of necessary expression and that opting to remove the connective element to art, by its nature, removes it's soul. If AI ever got to the point that it was truly sentient, full on Data level "That's just a person" then, and I think this is a point that can be agreed to, AI art would be less of a problem. If a thinking entity, not a hollow program, created this, then it could be worth witnessing. The problem isn't the buttons. It is that AI art lacks a soul. Soul cannot be found in aesthetic beauty or objective quality. Soul requires thought, consideration, inspiration *TRUE INSPIRATION* not recreation or mimicry, personhood, selfhood. You have not optimized the human out of art. You optimized the art out of pictures. That's what these are. Pictures. Not art. Hell even the idea of calling this "Art" without a soul behind it necessarily points to a reductionist view of thinking bordering on fascistic neoclassicalism. Art requires soul. You made a program that generates a picture. Now make it hate you, like everyone else who *has a fucking soul.*
