People dont appreciate art just because it looks pretty. People appreciate art because not everyone can draw well. People admire the talent behind it, the hardwork it took to get to that level, the meaning behind the art, the thought that was put into it. Thats why people dont really appreciate AI art and people who does are mostly awed by the advancement of technologies and the future possibilities. Sure, its visually pleasing but people will never praise the AI artist, they always talk about the technology. It doesnt stay in their mind, like oh this artist i saw on youtube was so good! They just go, oh looks cool or weird and then scroll past.
