´Terrible take; you are acting as if the AI is a living breathing thing taking inspiration ; You are anthropomorphizing the AI , which is very unscientific; Many people in the field are hesitant to call image generators intelligences to begin with. So how can it take inspiration? What it's actually happening is: They are feeding the hard work of real people into automatic generators and people like you just make excuses to defend this fact. Anybody that has used these AI's extensively know one truth: Image generators can't create anything better than their dataset. Ai training has diminishing results. You can go take a look at the people in art station selling "Ai image references" and they start to look very Samey between them. You can look at the stable diffusion subreddit and notice it becomes very boring after a while with endless busts of celebrities from the waist up, and flat perspective landscapes. Make no mistake: AI is not taking inspiration because, AI cannot extrapolate information. It can only use images feed into it as materials. This makes AI system even less usable for artists because it is a system that is difficult to use to create anything new. It feels more like a statistical vending machine that remixes images. In especially small datasets or very specialized trainings like dream booth or text inversion you can tell what images it is using as materials in the output itself. People believing that this is "the future of art" constant remixing , in a world where we are already flooded by the same superhero stories over and over again, .. it just makes me sad. People think that art should just be treats out of a vending machine.
