Someone should invent AI before we need to worry abt it. Things what they call AI are not more AI than my home pc. Whole current AI hype is 99,9% made for increase value of stocks or gain more capital for companies who try develop AI. And soon they start sell microwaves and vacuumcleaners and claims there is AI in it. And ofc those cost lot more than "regular" microwave.
Also we need remember how much those tech companies lie to us. Before AI i wish to see self driving car what should be done years ago and its still not. If they cant make car driving on road yet, we dont need worry abt AI. Whole AI seems to be decades away.
I give them benefit of doubt that someone may already invent AI but they keep it secret and try hidden it as deep as they can. I dont know what is hidden inside big companies and goverment black budgets. But if some private company already did that in secret, i would think they already try make money out of it and gain glory how smart they are. Its hard to keep that big thing in secret. However goverments in USA or China might have it and keep it secret for military purposes. Its not impossible, but unlikely.
