Agree with everything you say. But AI is no worse than where modern art was heading regardless on it's own... You talk about the banana on the wall, but that's far from the worst BS I've seen in modern art museums. I've seen a slashed canvas exhibited in a world leading museum. I've seen actual pieces of s**t on sticks exhibited in the Tate Modern in London. The whole art world has embraced novelty for the sake of it whilst abandoning every other aspect (such as creativity or any skill based aspects).
