the AI isn't stealing your art, its learning from it. you cant steal an art style; otherwise the majority of artists would be stealing from each other because no one is original, we all tweak already made artstyles and adapt it to our own personal tastes. and that's all the AI does; it learns how to paint in a specific artstyle, it doesn't replicate already made paintings. the reason people buy your art is because of the meaning behind the painting; not the art itself, that's just a personal artstyle taste. like i love Ruan Jia's artstyle, it has a perfect balance of detail and "painterly" within it, kind of like traditional canvas painting, which makes me wanna have that art style for myself so i can create stories with that style. AI is a tool that is helping artists to improve as you can generate anything you want in any style that its trained on, which you can study and learn from. this is great as artists don't typically paint everything, they stick to a theme and that's it; but AI can paint everything in said style, so you don't have to guess how its painted in the style you want to learn. yes there should be a human only platform where no AI images are presented, but at the same time the only people who hate seeing AI images are the ones who are insecure about their own ability to create art as they see AI as being better which removes their motivation to improve, but it should be the opposite way round; the AI images should motivate you and inspire you to get better and make more art. we cant just be "artists" anymore, we have to adapt to now being story tellers, and we show our stories through our art and give meaning to the art we make; because doing that is what makes us irreplaceable and valued. those who just make art for the sake of it and without any meaning behind it are the ones who will be replaced by AI, because no one cares about bad art with no meaning, humans need a story or meaning behind the art for us to care about it. the AI isnt stealing images by artists and giving them away, its just replicating the style, thats it. you have to be as good as the AI to stay in the art industry now, because people would rather use AI to achieve a higher quality painting than you making a lesser quality one. think about it, spend little or no money for a high quality painting using AI, or hundreds to get a poor quality painting by an artist who is inconsistent with their ability to create good quality work? i think anyone would pick the AI over the human in that scenario. so just use the AI to increase your own skill and then you wont be effected by it, as youll be just as good or better than the AI.
